i look at streamyx combo promotion and it tell me that we should go for the 4 mbps because the price is cheapest among the market if we need high speed or broadband connection !
I been call around TM asking about this promotion : is it any hidden charges or hidden promotion that not stated in the advertisement and newspaper !
TM operator knowledge make me want to vomit : they dont even know what is streamyx zone and hotspot ! so after changing a few operator - finally i reached to a good operator which able to answer all my question like below :
SP2U.com : I would like to register the streamyx combo 4 mbps!
TM operator : Do you have a fixed phone line ?
SP2u.com : sorry , i have no fixed phone line - i would like to have it with streamyx combo 4 mbps.
TM operator : ok. please goto the nearest TMPOINT to register a fixed phone line and streamyx combo 4 mbps together.
After that , i went to the nearest TMPOINT in Taipan , Subang USJ, while i was registering the fixed phone line :
SP2u.com : can i use streamyx in a box for 4 mbps to waived the installation fees (RM88) ?
TM point : Sorry , we are not allow user to use streamyx in a box to waived the 4 mbps because we need to check your area / home are supporting the 4 mbps streamyx or not ...
SP2u.com : (i was shocked ) what ? still need to check the area / home supported the 4 mbps or not ? then let say i register the fixed phone line and your TM technician come to my area/home found that i cant install 4 mbps , what gonna TM charge me ?
TM point : then you can decide not to use our streamyx / you can apply for 1 mbps.
SP2u.com : then let say i dont want 1 mbps and i cancel the fixed phone line - how much it gonna charge me ?
TM point : (then he show me this) this is the rate !

Most of you will say this is a standard and normal procedure for registering a streamyx but then i will say it is a trick and scam from TM -
Let say : when you want to get the streamyx broadband 4 mbps - they will tell you to get a fixed phone line first , then after you register the fixed phone line which cost you Deposit(RM75),Stamp Duty(RM10),Wiring Charges(RM30-50),
and the TM technician will come to your area to check isnt it your area is supporting 4 mbps -
finally they found out that your area dont have it - they ask you to take 1 mbps (the maximum supporting speed *90% in Malaysia is just only 1 mbps) if you dont , you need to goto TM point to cancel your fixed line.
So in this case - most of the people will decide to take the 1 mbps streamyx combo which is RM 110 or
they decide to cancel the fixed phone line , so they will lost Deposit + Stamp Duty + Wiring Charges =RM 135
Majority - people who fall into this trap and scam - they will decide to choose the RM110 plan or lower speed plan . finally i thinks most of you know what happening in the whole promotion .
So they are using 4 mbps which is RM 160 monthly advertisement to attract people which is new user like me or old user (which is using the streamyx basic 1.0 line or lower ) to change to this package and they will get another 12 months contract with the old user by using this way.
So actually their's promotion is 12 months contract + 1.0 mbps streamyx line + fixed line = RM110 which is about RM 10++ cheaper compare to streamyx basic home 1.0 mbps.
Anyway , please ask them a lot of question before doing any registration !

the more u ask the more your headace. tm already know your area support 4mbps or not. No need isntall phone line first.
actually they dont know - you need to get a phone no. that close to your house to let them check. beside that , that no. must have streamyx installed.
